東京都立南多摩中等教育学校の和太鼓部を創設し、わずか4年で「第43回全国高等学校総合文化祭 郷土芸能部門」において最優秀賞・文部科学大臣賞受賞へと導いた情熱的な指導者です。テレビ東京のドキュメンタリー番組でも取り上げられ、大きな感動を呼びました。八丈島での豊かな経験を活かし、伝統的な響きと自由な表現を融合させた八丈太鼓の魅力を、皆さんに直接お伝えします。

## 🥁 Let's Try Hachijo-Taiko Drumming! 【Hachijo-Taiko Workshop】🥁
Beginners are very welcome! This is a free workshop where you can enjoy the fun of drumming.
Would you like to explore the deep charm of Hachijo-Taiko? Mr. Kenji Imagawa, a former teacher at Hachijo High School and a specialist in Japanese drumming instruction, will courteously guide you through the profound appeal of Hachijo-Taiko with a unique style that blends tradition and freedom. Even if you are a complete beginner, feel free to join us and have fun drumming!

### 👨🏫 Instructor: Mr. Kenji Imagawa
Mr. Imagawa is a passionate educator who founded the Japanese Drumming Club at Tokyo Metropolitan Minamitama Secondary Education School and led them to win the Highest Award (Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award) in the Local Performing Arts Division at the 43rd National High School Cultural Festival in just four years. His dedicated instruction, strong bond with his students, and their growth through drumming were featured in a TV Tokyo documentary, generating great inspiration. Utilizing his rich experience gained from living on Hachijo Island, Mr. Imagawa will share the fascinating blend of traditional rhythms and free expression of Hachijo-Taiko.
